Dr. Kim Johnson is a dynamic and engaging speaker who will guide you through intimate, practical, conversation-based lectures in Oncology and also share her passion for supporting veterinary professionals in achieving true wellbeing. She is certified in Workplace Wellbeing through the AVMA, a Certified Veterinary Burnout Professional through Get MotiVETed University, and certified in Positive Mindfulness.

Together with M2S co-owner Dr. Casey Kersten, also a Certified Veterinary Burnout Professional, you will explore meaningful insights and actionable strategies designed to foster a healthier mindset and a more sustainable, fulfilling career in veterinary medicine.

And as much as we love a windowless conference room and khaki pants, we at M2S prefer

our CE with toes buried in the sand or the pool whenever possible.

What does the M2S Veterinary Retreat include?

*Alcohol is not included. If you choose to consume alcohol, the legal drinking age in Costa Rica is 18 years.

American dollars are accepted everywhere and can be used for additional purchases if you choose.

Encantada is a boutique oceanfront resort that we will enjoy exclusively as a group. The property features seven thoughtfully designed cottages, each offering three to five individual beds.

This retreat is intentionally designed as a shared community experience—one meant to be enjoyed alongside friends, both longtime and newly discovered. We encourage you to reconnect with veterinary school classmates, travel with colleagues, or arrive open to forming meaningful connections with like-minded veterinary professionals you’ll call on for years to come.

Guests will be accommodated in shared cottages, with each individual having their own bed unless otherwise requested. Roommate requests are welcome, and we will do our best to accommodate them. Limited alternative accommodations are available, including one private suite which may be reserved for an additional fee. Non-veterinary guests are welcome to join us and can participate in all activities except CE lectures. Guest price is same as described minus $600.

Pay In Full: $3300 (save $200)

*Monthly Payments: $1000 deposit + 8 monthly payments of $300 billed July-Feb (save $100)

Deposit and Final: $1000 deposit + $2500 due 1/27/27

*Those paying monthly will receive a link to fulfill next payment before July 27th, 2026.

A monthly payment will automatically be deducted each month thereafter until February.

Cancellation Policy: 

Deposit (minimum $1000) is due at time of booking. Deposit is 100% refundable until July 27th, 2026, and is nonrefundable thereafter. Full payment is due on or before 90 days prior to first day of event. M2S retains the right to offer your seat to another guest if invoices are not paid on time. Cancellations between 90 and 30 days prior to event will receive a 50% refund of total cost. Nonrefundable credit toward a future Mountain to Sea Retreats program (within two years following the date of issue) will be available if you give notice between 29 days and 1 day before your event. ​No credit or refund is available if you cancel on the arrival day; if you do not show up; or if you leave an event early for any reason.

No refund will be available if you attend a program and are dissatisfied with its presentation or content.

Mountain to Sea Retreats reserves the right to cancel a program at any time. If M2S cancels a program, you will receive a full refund.
